What is adventure coaching?!

Adventure and/or life coaching is an innovative and holistic approach to personal coaching. It combines the principles of personal development with immersive experiences, often in the great outdoors, or through symbolic or physical challenges.

The idea is to step outside of your daily routine to reconnect with yourself, gain clarity, and make decisions that are more aligned with your deepest values. This type of coaching is for those who want authentic, hands-on, powerful, and transformative support that goes beyond the traditional face-to-face office setting and pure, ineffective theory.

How does coaching work in general? 🙂

A coaching program generally consists of several stages, each playing an essential role in the development of the coachee.

The discovery session or initial interview

This initial meeting (often free or at a reduced rate) allows you to get to know each other, lay the foundations for the coach/coachee relationship, and identify the major objectives of the program. This is a key step in creating a climate of trust and confirming whether the approach is right for the person being coached.

Coaching sessions (in person or remotely)

Each session lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour 15 minutes. They can take place:

  • In the heart of nature
  • In a classic office
  • In a third place

The schedule of sessions is determined jointly: weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on the need. Attention to punctuality: Respecting the schedule is essential. A delay of more than 15 minutes without justification always results in the automatic cancellation of the session, which is considered due. Indeed, the coach is just as committed as the client; in the event of an unjustified absence or being late without notice, it is a sign of disrespect, which therefore violates the code of ethics and honor agreed upon when signing the contract.

Exchanges between sessions

Support doesn't stop at sessions. It often includes:

  • follow-up messages
  • follow-up calls
  • exercises to do
  • sharing of resources (videos, readings, reflection tools).

This allows for dynamic and reactive monitoring based on what emerges for the coachee between two appointments.

Debriefing and closing of the program

At the end of the program, a debriefing session is offered. This is a time to reflect on:

  • measure developments,
  • anchor learning,
  • answer outstanding questions
  • define the next steps independently.

A summary of the journey can be shared, with personalized recommendations for what comes next.
